Summary

Hosts/hostesses at WCO should be friendly, welcoming and assist with maintaining customer traffic in order to provide guests with exceptional service and an overall positive experience. 

Responsibilities

Host/Hostess responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet guests upon arrival at the door with a smile
  • Check for reservations or add guests to waiting list 
  • Communicate with server staff to expedite waiting list 
  • Professionally answer phone calls and customer queries about the restaurant and menu and assist various restaurant staff when necessary.
  • Find proper seating arrangement based on server rotation
  • Take guests to seat with proper amount of menus 
  • Have friendly conversation with guests
  • Hourly bathroom checks
  • Clean assigned areas and maintain proper sanitation standards 
  • Assisting with table wipe downs when restaurant is not busy 
  • Cleaning menus 
  • Wiping down front and back glass doors 
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general equivalent
  • At least one (1) year experience as a server preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor 

Dress Code

  • All black, solid. No stripes, polka dots, words, pictures etc.
  • Shoes must be closed toe and have backs on them (they do not have to be black)
  • No tank tops or spaghetti straps of any kind 
  • Shorts, dresses, and skirts must be appropriate length (anyone can wear shorts)
  • No leggings or yoga pants 
  • No sheer clothing 
  • You may wear any company shirts if you have one of those
  • No rips or tears in your clothing
  • Accessories can be personalized (hats, scarves etc.)
  • Any hats are okay but please make sure they are solid black
  • Face masks always. Any color or pattern. The company has face masks available if you forget yours at home. But please make sure to always have one / keep one in your car. 

Work Environment:

  • Operates in a standard restaurant environment
  • Moderate to loud noise 
  • Frequent exposure to variable temperature changes and steam 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to Bend, Squat, Run & Physically React in a Prompt Manner 
  • Ability to Lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to Stand for Very Long Periods of Time
